Forwarding CS Email
Forwarding CS Email
This document describes how to set forward your CS email account to another email address such as yourname@neo.tamu.edu
- First, Log into UNIX using putty
- Then using a text editor such as vi, pico (the easiest to learn), or emacs edit your ".forward" file.
- The ".forward" file should contain only one line with the email address where you want you email to be forwarded to.
Example using pico:
- Once you have logged to sun.cs.tamu.edu at the bash prompt type "pico .forward"
- Next .forward file will open in the pico text editor. In the first line of the file type your email address you want your CS email forwarded to replacing any existing address.
- Next save the file, by typing control-o.
- This will bring up a menu at the bottom, just hit enter to save. Once the file has been saved your email will be forwarded. To exit pico type control-x.
If you encounter problems forwarding your email visit the helpdesk in room 210 for assistance.
