The Computer Science department offers podiums installed with computers and digital projectors in all lecture rooms and several of the department’s conference rooms. Each podium computer is equipped with sound and a digital projector for presentations. Some of the podiums also have a VCR available.
It is always good advice to start early and test that your presentation works in the setting where you will be giving it. The helpdesk strongly encourages everyone who is presenting to check that everything works before hand. This is especially important if you will be using audio or video in your presentation, doing software demonstrations, or require any special accommodations. The helpdesk will be glad to give you access to the podium equipment to test your presentation, the helpdesk is open from 7:00AM to midnight every week day except Friday.
In the past common problems encountered by student presenters have been missing codecs for audio and video presentations; incompatible versions of Java, sound (in general), and missing software. These problems can be fixed, but only with sufficent available time.
