Webmail how-to
http://webmail.cs.tamu.edu/ is a web interface to check your Computer Science Departmental email account. This document will provide information on access and usage of CS webmail.
Accessing your email account
- Start up the web browser

- In the address bar, type in http://webmail.cs.tamu.edu/, and press enter.
- Security Alert dialog box will pop-up, click Yes. Once the login page appears type in the login name (CS Unix login name) and Password (CS Unix password), and click Login.

- Once successfully logged in, mail inbox will be displayed on the screen.

Inside Webmail
There are several function in the web-interface email account.
- Inbox: Current and new emails that are there and/or received. The email can be read by clicking on subjet line. If the name or email address of the sender is clicked, a dialog box will automatically pop-up to compose a new email for that person.

- Compose: Composing new email, a new dialog box will pop-up. In the TO: field either type in the email address or the CS username of the person

- Folders: This folders can be used to store emails. Two folders provided are INBOX and sent mail. There are series of options available such as create new folder, rename folder, delete folder, etc.

- Search: If certain email is hard to find, then this is a very helpful feature. An email can be searched by its subject, sender information, certain text on body, and dates. Also the search can be narrowed down to select folders.

- Addressbook: Storage of email addresses and contacts.

- Logout: Logs the user out of the web-based mail program.

Note:
The email can be checked on either, UNIX or Web, interface at any time. But if an email is deleted in either interface, UNIX or Web, that email will be deleted from both the places.
