This is the department's intranet for news, calendar, user directory, account management,
room reservations, and homework turnin. The intranet is currently under
development and some services may not be functional at this time.
unix.cs.tamu.edu (also known as interactive.cs.tamu.edu)
This server is for general interactive logins however it is being phased out to
be replaced by sun.cs.tamu.edu.
windows.cs.tamu.edu
This server is available for Windows remote desktop connections.

Web Servers:
students.cs.tamu.edu
This is a web server available for public student pages. It is accessible
from anywhere on the Internet. This web server only supports static web
pages, for dynamic pages use projects.cs.tamu.edu. Each student has the
option to activate a personal web page hosted by the department. Follow
these instructions for more information.

projects.cs.tamu.edu
This is a web server available for students to create dynamic web pages with
perl, php, c/c++, etc. However this server is blocked by the campus firewall, thus
it is only accessible to those on campus or using VPN. For a publicly accessible
web page use students.cs.tamu.edu. To activate a dynamic web page follow
these instructions for more information.

File Sharing Servers:
aspengrove.cs.tamu.edu
This is the main file storage for the department including home directories,
such as //aspengrove/username/.
Access Methods: Windows File Sharing
ntfiler.cs.tamu.edu
This is the secondary file storage for the department which includes software
available to students for download.
Access Methods: Windows File Sharing
Database:
database.cs.tamu.edu
This server has all the databases available for student use.
Currently both PostgreSQL and MySQL are available.
mail.cs.tamu.edu
This server is for departmental email, it supports: POP, SPOP, IMAP, IMAPS, and SMTP
connections. When using VPN or on-campus use mail.cs.tamu.edu for both you incoming and outgoing
email server. When you are off campus use SPOP or IMAPS for incoming and smtp-relay.tamu.edu as your outgoing
(SMTP) email server.
